As you move through these changing times… be easy on yourself and be easy on one another. You are at the beginning of something new. You are learning a new way of being. You will find that you are working less in the yang modes that you are used to.
You will stop working so hard at getting from point A to point B the way you have in the past, but instead, you will spend more time experiencing yourself in the whole, and your place in it.
Instead of traveling to a goal out there, you will voyage deeper into yourself. Your mother’s grandmother knew how to do this. Your ancestors from long ago knew how to do this. They knew the power of the feminine principle… and because you carry their DNA in your body, this wisdom and this way of being is within you.
Call on it. Call it up. Invite your ancestors in. As the yang based habits and the decaying institutions on our planet begin to crumble, look up. A breeze is stirring. Feel the sun on your wings.

So here we are. At this threshold
of amazing change.
And here we are. In cocoons
The truth about the caterpillar to butterfly metamorphosis is that while in the cocoon there is a complete liquification, melt down if you will. What was must dissolve before the new can emerge. Seems an apt, if daunting, metaphor for where we are. And here we are.
In this cave time cocooning, can we handle the meltdown? From this cave time cocooning, what will emerge?
The Rainbow Prophecy, as it has come to be known, refers to the keepers of the legends, rituals, and other mythsthat
will be needed when the time comes
to restore the health on Earth. It is believed that these Warriors of the Rainbow, will return on a day of
awakening, when all people
will uniteand create a new world
of justice, peace and freedom –
of unity, harmony, and love.
Although this prophecy was given by a woman of the Cree Indian nation over a century ago, there are similar prophecies and stories from the Hopi, the Zuni and the Cherokee peoples related to the rainbow warriors. This is from the Navajo-Hopi prophecy.
There will come a day when people of all races, colors, and creeds
will put aside their differences. They will come together in love,
joining hands in unification, to heal the Earth and all Her children.
They will move over the Earth like a great Whirling Rainbow,
bringing peace, understanding and healing everywhere they go. We will learn how to see and hear in a sacred manner. Men and women will be equals the way Creator intended them to be. All children will be safe. Elders will be respected and valued for their contributions to life. The whole human race will be called The People and there will be no more war, sickness, or hunger forever.
Throughout cultures around the world there are ancient stories of great cycles of life on Earth. This is from the Prophecy of the Seven Fires from the Anishnabe people.
In the time of the Seventh Fire, a New People would emerge.
They would retrace their steps to find the wisdom
that was left by the side of the trail long ago. Their steps
would take them to the elders, who they would ask
to guide them on their journey. If the New People remain strong
in their quest, the sacred drum will again sound its voice.
There will be an awakening of the people, and the sacred fire
will again be lit. At this time, the light-skinned race will be given
a choice between two roads. One road is the road of
greed and technology without wisdom or respect for life.
The other road is spirituality, a slower path that includes
respect for all living things. If we choose the spiritual path,
we can light yet another fire, an Eighth Fire, and begin
an extended period of peace and healthy growth.
And so we stand at this threshold of great change and possibility and hope. This is a mythic time that calls us to be mythic. Yet we are not alone. As Auntie Mulara, an Australian aboriginal elder speaking for the Grandmothers, shares in this inspiring and uplifting video, the Ancestors and Grandmothers and indeed the Earth herself are with us. They are holding us. Here is the link to that video: Grandmother Lore Aboriginal Prophecy
There were prophecies. And now we are here. What will we choose?
“I’m not particularly comfortable with this,” I said. “It’s lasting much longer than I anticipated.” He smiled. “You are resting. And getting ready,” he said. I knew better than to ask what I was getting ready for. My spiritual teachers generally prefer and encourage our own discovery. This was in December.
After a profound spiritual experience in Ireland in September, I had come home and settled into some cave time for contemplation and integration. By December I was ready to be done. But I wasn’t done. Stepping through a threshold to a deeper relationship and alliance with spiritual realms was calling me to surrender to the rhythm of those energies and as the weeks and months passed, that surrender was not complete. I sensed a significant shift coming but it hadn’t arrived.
I love caves. Especially the caves in Ireland. This photo is of me and dear friend Annie in one of the Caves of Keash near Sligo. I love being with the Earth and being in the Earth. Listening to her heartbeat and the echoes of ancestral habitation. And I love the deep contemplative energy of cave time, particularly when it aligns with the Winter season. But Spring was approaching and I was getting restless. This whole surrender thing was getting a bit unnerving.
Yet in that unnerving was the gift of understanding more deeply how to navigate liminal space, the space between worlds that is perhaps not as much between worlds but the blending of worlds. And for new navigators, it’s a space that holds the unknown and uncertainty. For me, this cave time offered the gift of learning how to ground and stay grounded in liminal energy.
I emerged from the cave and was able to go to Ireland for a couple of weeks before finding myself catapulted back into cave time. This time because of the global virus. And now we are all in cave time. We are all dancing with the liminal energies of the unknown and uncertain. For many, that dance is not going well. And we are ready for it to be done.
But it’s not done. And this time of liminality stretches before us with no sure end in sight. It’s more than a bit unnerving. May we find the gifts here for us. May we breathe into the now that is. May we see the shift coming and may we be grounded to welcome it.
For we are standing on the threshold of the biggest collective awakening in human history.
